It is with deep sadness that the College has learned that William Harden-Chaters, a PhD student in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Graphene Technology passed away on 23 November 2020, just short of his 31st birthday.
William was passionate about his research and had a love for fashion and design that drove him to strive to be the best he could. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. William’s death is an immeasurable loss to our community, whose thoughts are with his family and close friends.
There will be a short service of remembrance at 11:15am on Friday 11 December in the College Chapel to allow Cambridge friends to mark his passing, while his funeral takes place in Tyneside. Congregational attendance is permitted, but please email chaplain@girton.cam.ac.uk to reserve a space, as we have limited capacity due to Covid-19 Regulations. Visitors from outside the College are welcome.
