Information About Graduating from Girton

There are 3 ceremonies which you can attend, please check which one you are eligible for.

  • Degree Ceremonies: For Postgraduates, or Undergraduates who have delayed their graduation.
  • General Admission: Is the ceremony at which most undergraduates proceed to their first degree at the end of their final term.
  • MA Congregation: A Bachelor of Arts may be admitted to Master of Arts not less than six years from the end of their first term of residence, provided that a supplicat for the latter degree may only be entered after the former degree has been conferred. Congregation Dates 2021–22:

The list below gives the dates of Congregations of the Regent House which degrees may conferred throughout this academic year. Graduands may be presented in person or in absence unless otherwise stated beside the date.

 

Lent Term 2022

Guests will not be permitted to attend the ceremonies at Senate House during Lent Term 2022.  

All dates are subject to change or cancellation, dependant on the latest government advice regarding COVID-19.

  • Friday 1  April 2022 - for those who become eligible to receive their MA in 2022 - In Person or In Absence (no guests permitted in the Senate House)

Easter Term 2022

We are pleased to advise that guests will be welcomed back to our Degree Ceremonies from 29 April 2022. 

All degree ceremonies are live streamed and the recording of the ceremonies is held for 2 months after the ceremony, however, we cannot guarantee the livestream for every ceremony. The recording of the events is protected by copyright and must not be shared on other platforms or reproduced in any way.

The University will take every reasonable action they can to ensure that no guests are captured on the livestream, or recording, but by accepting a ticket to the event you are accepting that you are aware there is a risk of this happening.
