Visiting the College
Open days
Our Open Days offer the opportunity to meet current students and staff at the college, and to find out what it’s like to live and study at Girton. They also enable prospective students to find out more about the Cambridge admissions process and to familiarise themselves with the College before making an application.
You must register in advance to attend. For more information, please visit the Cambridge Open Days webpage.
The University of Cambridge is holding a Colleges Open Day on Friday 12 September 2025. The Open Day is only for Year 12 and 13 (or equivalent) and mature students. We are unable to accommodate students in Year 11 (or equivalent) and below at these events. Girton College will be open from 10:00 to 15:00.
Our Admissions Team will be available for questions throughout the day in the Stanley Library. Student Ambassadors will be taking attendees on guided tours of the College, with a chance to view student accommodation.
Individual visits
If you are visiting Cambridge and would like to look around, please email us at access@girton.cam.ac.uk for further details on a self-guided tour. If a member of the Admissions team is available, we may be able to meet with you if you have any questions, but please note this is not guaranteed.
Visitors are welcome to look around the College grounds between 9.00 and 17:00 daily. The College is closed for tours in December, March, and during the May/June exam period (4 May 2025 - 23 June 2025). Please note, the Library is open to current members of the College only and to others by appointment or as part of a guided tour. The Archive and Special Collections are open by appointment only.
You can find the Virtual Tour for Girton on the University of Cambridge webpage.
