The Reception Room

A hidden jewel in Girton’s crown, the breath-taking tapestry walls of this intimate room will make any event uniquely memorable.

Located right next to the Lodge, the beauty of the Reception Room has to be seen to be appreciated with its floor-to ceiling tapestries depicting a variety of flora and fauna and created by Julia, Lady Carew, in 1908. The room also features a wood-panelled fireplace area with an imposing portrait of Lady Carew herself and is lit by elegant chandeliers.

This intimate space is perfect for small wedding receptions and private dinners – or smaller meetings with a difference. It’s also popular as a greeting or reception drinks area prior to larger events, at the Stanley Library, for example, which is just down the corridor.
