Girton Lifelong learning summer school terms & conditions
Application & payment deadlines
The application deadline is 14 June 2020, but applications may still be accepted after this date if places are available.
Places on the summer school and accommodation options are filled on a first come, first served basis, so early application is strongly advised.
To reserve a place on the summer school, and any accommodation chosen, a non-refundable deposit must be paid. The deposit is £500 for those attending for the full two weeks, and £250 for those attending for just one week.
The balance of the summer school fees is due by 26 June 2020. Failure to pay the balance by this date may result in the summer school place being offered to another applicant.
Cancellation & refund policy
If an applicant must cancel their place on the summer school, the following refunds shall be offered:
- A full refund (excluding the non-refundable deposit) if the place is cancelled by 26 June 2020
- A 50% refund (excluding the non-refundable deposit) if the place is cancelled by 10 July 2020
- A 25% refund (excluding the non-refundable deposit) if the place is cancelled by 24 July 2020
- After 24 July 2020 no refund shall be made
Academic courses & social programme
The College will endeavour to provide the academic courses and social programme as described on these web pages. In the unlikely event that an instructor has to withdraw their course due to illness or other exceptional reason, the College will seek to offer a replacement course in the same subject area. In the unlikely event that, for reasons beyond its control, the College is unable to provide elements of the social programme as described, suitable alternative activities shall be offered.
Insurance
The College is unable to accept liability for any loss or damage to personal property.
All applicants are strongly advised to take out sufficient travel and medical insurance to cover the duration of the summer school, together with any journey to or from the UK. They should also take out vacation cancellation insurance.
