Research themes

My research area is focused on the themes of technology enhanced learning and software engineering. I have been recently focusing on the security and privacy considerations of educational platforms. I am one of the original research engineers who developed the http://www.isaacphysics.org platform and still work part-time in the team that runs this and our other project https://ww.isaaccomputerscience.org

I have a general interest in software engineering, processes, practices and tooling.

Teaching Responsibilities

I enjoy teaching courses related to software engineering and security as well as supervising part II projects in these areas. I supervise the following courses:

  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Software & Security Engineering
  • Security

Other

I work part-time in the computer laboratory as a research associate but for the rest of my time I work as an enterprise architect for central government. I also spend time involved in technology related start-ups for example I am part-time CTO of https://www.iventis.co.uk.
