College MHWC Statement

Mental Health at Work Commitment

At Girton College, our commitment to mental health at work is rooted in the same inclusive and equality-driven principles that have defined our College since its foundation. Today we continue that legacy by fostering a working environment where every member of staff feels supported, can speak openly, and be able to thrive.

Girton College has signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment, a framework developed by Mind to support employers in creating mentally healthy workplaces.

We are committed to taking a more proactive approach to wellbeing through our People & Culture strategy. This includes our Wellbeing Action Plan, improved access to support, Mental Health First Aid provision, and creating more space for open and honest conversations.

The Commitment provides a clear structure to continue this work, with a focus on prevention, early support, and equipping managers with the confidence to have the right conversations at the right time.

Visit the Mind supporting mental health at work website for more information on the Commitment.
