Who built the pyramids? Who created tombs for wealthy ancient Egyptians? How were the dead supplied with a workforce in the afterlife?
Helen Strudwick, Senior Curator (Ancient Nile Valley) at the Fitzwilliam Museum and lead curator of the Museum's acclaimed exhibition, Made in Ancient Egypt, will shed light on the craftsmen in Egyptian workshops, who produced the artefacts now displayed in museums around the world, as well as the workforces (real and magical) involved in large-scale projects.
Following the talk, the Lawrence Room Museum will be open from 15.00–16.00, giving visitors the chance to explore its fascinating collections.
