Projects:
I am a researcher, architect, urban designer, and development practitioner. My current research sits within the Department of Architecture at Cambridge and The Cambridge Room, where I design and deliver urban rooms and community engagement that aim to humanise the planning and consultation process. I co-convene the Community Design Research Lab (CDRL) at CRASSH, where my interests include how digital and emerging technologies can support more inclusive community participation.
I have worked across social value mapping, community-led regeneration, heritage, and design, on projects including Community Consultation for Quality of Life and Every One Every Day in Barking and Dagenham. My areas of interest include critical analysis of current understandings of heritage, participatory decision-making, tools for participation such as co-design and co-production, urban rooms and civic infrastructure, transdisciplinary research in the built environment, and the urban commons.
I am co-editor of the forthcoming Public Participation in Planning in the UK: Research through Practice (Routledge). I graduated with a PhD in Design Research Planning from Kingston University, a Master's degree from University College London in Development Planning: Building and Urban Design in Development, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Mumbai.
