Friday 12th April

18.00 – 21.00  Alumni Reception at Pollen Bistro, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

All alumni are welcome to join us for a drinks and canapes Reception which will include a self-guided tour of the world famous Flower Dome, as well as a performance by the acclaimed College Choir.

Saturday 13th April

9.00 – 16.00  Pathways to Excellence Symposium at the Arts House in the Old Parliament, Singapore

All are welcome to join us for a Symposium held in the historic Old Parliament of Singapore, a venue steeped in history.  The Symposium will look at the impact which Girton has had in the region in the fields of finance, law, and health through the work of some of our most stellar alumni (such as Human Rights Lawyer Gladys Li), as well as an opportunity for all to discuss the current hot topics in these fields.

The Mistress will share with all a brief review of Girton’s first 150 years, and discuss future aspirations for a College which has always aspired to be inclusive as well as at the intellectual leading edge.

There will be lectures by History Fellow Dr Simone Maghenzani on Girton’s history in Asia, as well as a lecture by Life Fellow Professor Peter Abrahams on Art and Leonardo da Vinci – so we hope there should be topics which will interest all, as well as reflect the breadth of what Girton offers.

The symposium will be enlighted by a wonderful performance by the College Choir, with a repertoire carefully selected for this occasion.

Note: tickets include a simple buffet lunch

18.30 – 22.30  Gala Dinner, British High Commissioner’s Residence, Singapore

Alumni and a guest are warmly invited to join the Mistress for a wonderful Gala Dinner at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Singapore.  After a drinks reception including a performance by the College Choir, guests will join His Excellency and the Mistress for a unique dinner in this beautiful property.
