Girtonians shortlisted for the 2023 Student Union Student-Led Teaching Awards

We are delighted to have two Girton Fellows and a Post-Doctoral Teaching Associate shortlisted for the 2023 Cambridge University Student Union's Student-Led Teaching Awards (SLTAs). The SLTA’s exist to reward outstanding teaching and student support across Cambridge University and its Colleges.

The Girtonians who have been shortlisted from among nearly 500 nominations are:

  • Maureen Hackett, Junior Bursar and Official Fellow, for Student Partnership and Empowerment
  • Dr Claire White, Brenda Stacey Official Fellow, for Postgraduate Research Supervisor of the Year
  • Dr Eimear Dunne, Post-Doctoral Research Associate, for Lecturer of the Year (All Subjects)

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 16 May 2023. All shortlisted nominees have been invited, together with the students who nominated them, and, the winners will be announced on the night. (Fingers crossed for our three Girtonians!)

We are all incredibly proud of Fellow and Junior Bursar, Maureen Hackett, who was announced winner at the 2023 Student-Led Teaching Awards on Tuesday night for Student Partnership and Empowerment. Huge congratulations also to Dr Claire White and Dr Eimear Dunne who both received “high commendation” as the runners-up in their categories of Postgraduate Research Supervisor of the Year and Lecturer of the Year respectively.
