The strong community feel at Girton encourages students to be confident in themselves and their abilities and to choose to apply to transfer into this exciting course if it takes their interest.

Undergraduate information

Management Studies is not available to new entrants. However, if, as your degree progresses, you feel that your career might be in management then reading Management Studies in your final year at Cambridge would be a good choice. Applications are invited from all third and fourth-year undergraduates. The programme provides the perfect opportunity for Cambridge undergraduates to develop a thorough understanding of the activity of management in an intellectually rigorous fashion.

The Management Studies Tripos provides students with a thorough grounding in the disciplines which form the basis of management practice; skills of critical analysis in relation to management issues; an awareness of the responsibilities of managers in a wider economic, social and environmental context; basic quantitative skills and the ability to apply them in a problem-solving context; the opportunity to gain practical experience of a management problem, and the opportunity to develop skills of communication and co-operation relevant to your future career.

Graduate information

Cambridge Judge Business School offers a wide variety of graduate programmes in the area of management.  These include three professional programmes, the MBA, the EMBA and the MFin, and a host of practitioner and research-oriented MPhil programmes https://www.jbs.cam.ac.uk/programmes/.  The research-oriented MPhil programmes are the primary feeders of the School's PhD programme.

Students are admitted by Cambridge Judge Business School to which you must apply directly, althought you must be admitted to a College to be able to study at the University. To ensure that this is Girton you need to indicate this on your application form.

Career destinations

Many of our graduates go on to careers in finance or management consulting, although the professional and practitioner programmes provide good preparation for people who go on to become managers / business leaders in whatever sector they might be working.
