You are warmly invited to join the Mistress, Professor Susan J. Smith, on Saturday 18 May 2019 at a reception to celebrate the College’s 150th Anniversary at Trinity College Dublin.

Girton renews its historic link with Trinity College, Dublin, which welcomed the ‘Steamboat Ladies’ from 1904-07. Lunch will be held in Trinity College’s prestigious 1592 Room, preceded by a tour of the Old Library, home to the Book of Kells. Dr Hazel Mills, College Historian, will speak about Girton’s Irish connections and the ‘Steamboat Ladies’ – the women who travelled to Dublin to receive their University degrees in less enlightened times.

The event is open to Girtonians, family and friends and there is an optional pre-drinks tour of the Old Library and Book of Kells at 11am. Reception drinks begin at 12 noon followed by lunch at 12.30pm. The dress code for the event is smart casual.

Tickets are £30 per person and the ticket price includes admission to the reception, drinks and lunch. It is also possible to book tickets for the Book of Kells Exhibition which starts at 11am prior to the drinks reception. Tickets for the exhibition are £10 per person.

To book, please use the online booking facility on our website, or alternatively call (0)1223 764935 to make your booking over the phone. Please RSVP before Friday 3 May 2019.

We do hope to see you there.
