Girton College is delighted to invite all those who studied Classics to a Classics Event for alumni and current students on the afternoon of Saturday 11 May 2019. The event will begin with a drinks reception at 12 noon in the Stanley Library followed by a short talk by former Director of Studies in Classics and current Life Fellow, Dr Dorothy Thompson, at 12.30pm. Guests will then be invited to the Old Hall for a buffet lunch. Following lunch the current Director of Studies in Classics, Dr Helen Van Noorden will introduce a panel of three alumni who will discuss useful aspects of their Classics degree. You are welcome to bring a guest. The dress code is smart casual.

The Lawrence Room, home to Hermione and other treasures, will be open from 3.00pm–4.00pm for those who would like to view our wonderful collection of artefacts.

We are still collecting advice or reflections on the value of a Classics degree from alumni. These contributions will be gathered into an information booklet to be distributed on the day, so whether you can attend this celebration or not, please do send in your entry.
