Senior Sous Chef


Job Description

Qualified to C&G 706 1/2 or an appropriate NVQ or equivalent, the Senior Sous Chef will support the Executive Head Chef in ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation throughout College and within given costs and budget parameters. The post holder will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a kitchen environment and demonstrate strong leadership, organisational time management, and planning skills. An ability to motivate others and to adopt a hands-on approach in a varied and demanding team environment is essential.

 


Personal Specification

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience in a kitchen catering environment.

Previous experience in a similar position

Desirable

Awareness of the Food Safety Act 1990, Food Hygiene (General) Regulations 1970 and 1987, COSHH Regulations 1988, and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Qualifications

City and Guilds 706 1/2 qualification, NVQ or equivalent.

Minimum of intermediate level Food Hygiene Certificate.

Trained First Aider desirable.
