Research and Teaching Interests

Research themes

My research is in the areas of clinical paediatric and adolescent diabetes and endocrinology.

My research includes studies into the pathophysiology of insulin resistance in young people with Type 1 and the development of novel therapeutic approaches to improve their glycaemic control.

I also research the neuroendocrine consequences of acquired brain injury, including the epidemiology and natural history of traumatic brain injury induced hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction.

I am also co-principle investigator of the Cambridge Baby Growth Study (est. 2001), researching the impact of genetic factors and the role of the maternal in-utero environment (including exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals) on pre / postnatal growth and reproductive health
