Open Days

If you are a sixth form student thinking of applying to Cambridge, our Open Days will give you the opportunity to meet current students and Directors of Studies and find out the answers to all your questions: What is it like studying at Cambridge? What are the interviews like? What are the interviewers looking for? Is this the course I want to study? 

You will also have the chance to see student rooms and meet current students. Teachers and accompanying parents and supporters are very welcome at these events.

Booking for the College Open Days is essential. There is a limit to the numbers which can be accepted for these days and early application is advised. To book a place on a College Open Day, please complete and return the relevant booking form. Bookings for the University Open Days are taken by the Cambridge Admissions Office; once you have booked with the Cambridge Admissions Office, no further booking with Girton is required to visit us on the University Open Days.

College Open Days

Monday 24th June 2013 & Saturday 21st September 2013

All subjects

(Monday 24th June will be for all subjects except Mathematics)

These College Open Days are a great opportunity to see Girton, to find out more about admissions and to meet current undergraduates and Directors of Studies. Refreshments are available on arrival and parking is available.

These days will run from 1.30 - 4.00pm and the programme will include:

  • Presentations by the Admissions Tutor and current undergraduates

  • Guided tours of Girton with current undergraduates

  • Informal meetings with Directors of Studies

  • Presentation for Parents and Supporters/Teachers by the Admissions Tutor, including a question and answer session

University Open Days

Thursday 4th and Friday 5th July 2013

All subjects

On these two days the University is open for prospective students to visit. Booking with the University is essential, and this will open on the University website later in 2013.

For those who have booked to attend the University Open Days, no further booking is required to visit Girton.

  • There will be a free shuttle bus servcie between the Sidgwick Site and Girton College

  • We will be open from 9am - 11.30am and 3.30pm - 5.30pm on both days

  • Admissions Tutor will give a talk on applying to Cambridge at 9.45am each day

  • Admissions Tutors, staff and students will be available during our opening hours for questions

  • Current undergraduates will be available to give guided tours of the College, including student rooms

Parking is available at the College for those who wish to have a look round and then take the free shuttle bus into the city centre. Why not drop in for a tour and refreshments on your way into or out of Cambridge.

Maths Open Day

The Maths Open Day took place on Saturday 27th April. Copies of the presentations given by the Admissions Tutor are available below. There are still opportunities to find out about Maths at the University of Cambridge and at Girton at the University Open Days and the September College Open Day.
