Louise Braddock is a former psychiatrist who now does philosophical research into psychoanalysis. She has edited an interdisciplinary collection of essays (with Michael Lacewing), called ‘The Academic Face of Psychoanalysis’ (Routledge 2007). She has written on ‘Philosophy and Psychoanalysis’ in The Philosopher’s Magazine, on ‘Psychoanalysis as functionalist social science: the legacy of Freud’s ‘Project for a Scientific Psychology’, and (forthcoming ) on ‘Emotions, Interpretation and the Psychoanalytic Countertransference’. She is currently working on philosophical aspects of psychological identification in psychoanalysis and the social sciences.
