How much is it to print in the computer rooms?

B&W is currently 5p per sheet (single sided) & 7.5p per sheet (double-sided).
Colour is 20p per sheet (single-sided) & 30p per sheet (double-sided).

How do we pay for printing?

As all the machines are now on the PWF, printing is charged in advance using the Common Balance scheme: http://www.cam.ac.uk/cs/pwf/print.html

How do I connect my machine to the Internet in my room?

Please plug in to the network socket in your room, and open a web browser. You will need to follow the on screen instructions.

Does my room have an Internet Connection?

What is a patch cable?

A patch cable is cable used to connect a network card on a computer to a wall socket, this is different to a phone cable as it has 8 wires whereas a phone cable has between 2 and 6.
A 5 Meter cable can be purchased from either Lodge for £2.30

What is a CRSid?

The CRSid (Central Registration Service identifier) is your logon name/user name/userid for most computer systems within the University. It is constructed from your initials and a random number. Your CRSid is unique and will not be used again. If you return within 5 years to do a PhD you will be able to retain the same CRSid.

What is my email address?

Your email address is your CRSid followed by @cam.ac.uk
