College Chapel Choir
Girton College Chapel Choir is an international-prize-winning choir of some 28 members which has grown in prominence at home and abroad over the last ten years. Among the Cambridge choirs it is known for its high standard and exciting programme of ambitious international tours, CD recordings and concerts – all on a moderate time commitment, and in a friendly, fun atmosphere. The installation of an inspiring and versatile four-manual organ by the Swiss firm St Martin has brought an added distinction to chapel music-making. The choir’s extremely broad repertoire extends from renaissance polyphony, through premières of works by national and student composers to lighter repertoire, such as arrangements of popular songs. Its musical life is enriched by collaborations with leading professional ensembles such as the London Mozart Players, Chaconne, and members of the Gabrieli Consort and with eminent guest directors, such as Christopher Robinson, Sir David Willcocks, Judith Clurman and David Lowe.
